Theremin Camp originated as a social gathering, organized by friends, most of them met through online Theremin workshops. The first Theremin Camp was in June 2024. This time, 29 theremin players came from 14 countries, including EU and the UK, USA, Canada, Peru and Brazil. There were several talks and workshops, ensembles and lessons, concerts and a lot of socializing. The event run in the brand new Rodovre Music school in Copenhagen.

Emily Harris: An absolutely wonderful full-on week of theremin, with good friends (old and new), meeting people previously only known online, trying new things, hanging out and sharing some laughs, intense lessons, and very inspiring performances!
Roy Palmer: Mixing with amazing people from around the world, drinking, chatting and the occasional theremin playing is such a wonderful experience and a treasured memory thanks to everyone who took part!

Marla Goodman (USA) made design for posters, programs, t-shirts and souvenirs. She also lead improvising for silent movies, There-o-kee and There-lympic.

Veronik (Peru) talked and played Rock on the theremin. Sashwati Mira Sengupta and Guillaume Subra (UK) researched Microtonal Theremin and Sash played Indian music. In the There-o-kee session everyone picked up a random song and played on a random theremin with Karaoke. Julia Teles (Brazil) made everyone exploring different body movements with the theremin. In the There-lympics was a competition of groups in all kind of funny challenges on the theremin. Lydia Kavina (UK) lead all the participants playing together in an orchestra.
There were a great variety of theremins of all kind. Most spectacular is perhaps one by Beat Weber (Switzerland). It combines D-lev and Open theremin.

Open Mic evening was for anyone to play a piece. Here is Marla’s performances.

There were also some interesting talks, such as by Alexander Levinson about his space controlled cello.

There was an opportunity to get individual lessons from C. Eyck, L. Kavina, T. Jorgensen and Veronique. Carolina also gave a talk sharing details of her finger technique.
Lydia Kavina, Carolina Eyck, Thorwald Jorgensen and Gregoire Blanc, accompanied by Irene Hasager and Kristoffer Rosing-Show, were playing the public concert on the last day.

And we were out together a lot.
