Albert Glinsky and his book Theremin: Ether Music and Espionage

Albert Glinsky is the author of the most comprehensive biography of Theremin Theremin: Ether Music and Espionage. He began researching Theremin’s life in 1987 while working on his doctoral dissertation. At the time, Theremin’s biography had rarely received any scholarly attention. At the same time, it was surrounded by numerous legends and unsubstantiated claims. To separate fact from fiction, Glinsky had to examine a vast range of sources and archival materials, verifying or disproving many of the myths that had accumulated around Theremin’s life.

On 9 August 2026, Albert gave a talk at Lydia Kavina’s online seminar, where we could learn and discuss many aspects of Theremin’s life and inventions. Albert also talked about his more recent book about Robert Moog Switched On.
