The year 2027 marks the 100th anniversary of the first public performances of the theremin in Germany, France (Paris), and England (London) for a wide audience.
In most of these cities, these were also the first performances of an electric/electronic instrument. This is evident from the large number of articles that appeared in daily newspapers; in addition, posters, concert programs, caricatures, and poems have been found, showing that the theremin was the talk of the town a hundred years ago.
Thus, 2027 provides the perfect opportunity to showcase the theremin in various locations and demonstrate that it already captivated many people back then. Furthermore, in 2027, the synthesizer will be named “Instrument of the Year” in Germany!
