Lydia Kavina: Theremin online workshop with special guest, Olivia Mattis

American musicologist Olivia Mattis has been a significant figure in promoting the theremin over the past several decades. She interviewed Leon Theremin in Bourges, France, in 1989, organized the First International Theremin Festival in the United States in 1997, wrote numerous articles about the theremin, and initiated the restoration of several of Leon Theremin’s historical instruments. In the workshop, Olivia will speak about her theremin journey, and we can discuss the ways in which the theremin has been promoted during the past 40 years.
