There is the largest theremin community in Japan. Classes are taught by Masami Takeuchi and Akio Hamaguchi in several cities in Japan. There are also ensembles of Matryomins. Masami Takeuchi also promotes the theremin as an accessible option for people with disabilities.
Kanako Hamada holds regular theremin classes on Mondays, twice a month, as well as individual courses and online classes. She is also the director of the Theremin orchestra in Japan.
